These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Remy mobile application ("App") operated by Judah Holland ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Remy. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.
2. Account Registration
- You must create an account to use Remy. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at judahrobert123@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all recipes, photos, notes, and other content you create or import in the App ("Your Content"). By using Remy, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process Your Content solely to provide the App's functionality to you.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any content you import. Remy is a personal organizer — do not use it to infringe copyrights or violate any third party's terms of service.
5. Sharing Recipes
Remy does not currently support public sharing of recipes. All recipes in your account are private and accessible only to you. Any future sharing features will be subject to additional terms.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or interact with the App itself.
- Upload content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App or its related systems.
7. AI-Powered Recipe Extraction
Remy uses artificial intelligence to convert your import sources into structured recipes. The type of import determines which AI service is used:
- URL, photo, and pasted-text imports are processed by OpenAI.
- Social media video imports (Instagram Reels, Facebook videos, TikToks) are first retrieved via RapidAPI and then analyzed by Google Gemini.
By using these import features, you agree to the applicable terms of these services. AI extraction is best-effort — results may be incomplete or require editing, particularly for low-quality images or videos with limited recipe detail. This is expected behavior, not a defect.
8. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
8.1 Free tier
Remy includes 5 lifetime recipe imports at no cost. You may manually enter unlimited recipes without counting against this limit.
8.2 Remy Unlimited
To import more than 5 recipes, you may subscribe to Remy Unlimited, available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. Subscription pricing is displayed in the App before purchase.
8.3 Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. Your Apple ID account will be charged at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store subscription settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions).
- We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies.
8.4 Price changes
We may change subscription prices at any time. We will notify you in advance of any price change affecting your active subscription. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes your acceptance.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by Judah Holland and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
10. Third-Party Services
Remy integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase — authentication and data storage
- OpenAI — AI recipe extraction from URLs, photos, and pasted text
- Google Gemini (Google LLC) — AI recipe extraction from social media videos
- RapidAPI — social media video content retrieval
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Apple App Store — payment processing
- Google — optional Sign-In with Google
These services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Judah Holland shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Judah Holland from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will provide additional notice within the App or by email. Continued use of the App after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from Settings. Upon termination, the provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive.
